Dj Yogi was born in Brooklyn, NY grew up in Miami, FL. He has been deejaying since 1993. His career started in a smokey dancehall club called La Reserve on 441 in Miramar, FL. Yogi was the Hip Hop DJ for the resident reggae sound system. He later moved onto Flava 91.9FM finding a niche mixing on the radio. Before leaving Miami he appeared on Mixx 96.
In 1995, Yogi hit the ground running playing tons of campus parties at Clark Atlanta University. He became a auxiliary member of the Weekend Wrecking Crew show called The Bomb and Hush Hush on WRAS 88.5FM at Georgia State University.
He became a consistent party rocker at Club Phenomena on Franklin Rd. In addition to club work he began plenty mobile DJ work as well and a few mix tapes.
In the Summer of 1998, Yogi appeared once on Beatminerz Radio / 88hiphop.com / Pseudo Online Networks. This was a college internship that changed his life and enhanced his career path.
From 1999 – 2004, Dj Yogi began developing his video editing skills.
He became a member of the Inside the NBA on TNT production team: Producing in game elements, short stories and motion graphics.
In that span, The love for music and deejaying never died Yogi returned to radio in 2001 to join D-Cas of The Connections Dj’s to do the Casual Conversations Show on the WRFG 89.3FM.
After a few years, Yogi left radio again to pursue a few Emmy’s on the TV side of things. However, in 2013 Yogi returned to WRFG to continue his passion for radio. He joined Gerlad Olivari, Big Dee, Tierra Clemmons and Brittany Manson to work on a show called on WRFG 89.3FM.
The show has been on the air for 15 years or so.
Currently, Yogi is a member of Fleet Djs. Still in rotation with the Weekend Wrecking Crew now on WREK 91.1FM.
